Massa Marittima

Just 800 metres from Podere Giarlinga, Massa Marittima is one of Tuscany’s most charming medieval villages. Visit the Cathedral, the Town Hall, the Fonte dell’Abbondanza (Fountain of Abundance), the Mining Museum, the Cassero Senese fortress, the Terzieri headquarters, the Museums of Sacred Art and Organs. Its squares, stone streets, and intimate atmosphere make it perfect for an evening stroll or a typical Tuscan dinner.

Abbey of San Galgano & Hermitage of Montesiepi

A mystical and evocative site, about a 45-minute drive away. The abbey is famous for having no roof, and within the hermitage you’ll find the legendary “Sword in the Stone” — a true Italian legend.

Twice a year (last Sunday in May and August 14th), Massa Marittima relives its medieval past with period costumes, parades, flags, and the historic Crossbow competition. A truly exciting and unforgettable event for lovers of tradition.
